Wave turbulence and vortices in Bose-Einstein condensation
We report a numerical study of turbulence and Bose-Einstein condensation within the two-dimmensional GrossPitaevski model with repulsive interaction. In presence of weak forcing localized around some wave number in the Fourier space, we observe three qualitatively different evolution stages. At the initial stage a thermodynamic energy equipartition spectrum forms at both smaller and larger scal...

متن کاملDecay of Quantized Vortices in Quantum Turbulence
The decay of quantized vortex line length in quantum turbulence at zero temperature is studied numerically by solving the Gross-Pitaevskii equation with a small-scale dissipation. The obtained decay of the vortex line length L is consistent with the L ∝ t −3/2 behavior which supports the Kolmogorov energy spectrum of quantum turbulence. The mechanism of the decay is discussed.
متن کاملOn the theory of BoseEinstein condensation of quasiparticles: on the possibility of condensation of ferromagnons at high temperatures
The Bose condensation of magnons in physical systems of finite size is considered for the case of ferromagnetic thin films. It is shown that in accordance with present-day experimental capabilities, which permit one to achieve densities of longwavelength spin excitations of ∼ 1018 – 1019 −3 , in such films, the formation of a coherent condensate of such quasiparticles begins at temperatures T ∼...
متن کاملWave Turbulence
In this paper we review recent developments in the statistical theory of weakly nonlinear dispersive waves, the subject known as Wave Turbulence (WT). We revise WT theory using a generalisation of the random phase approximation (RPA). This generalisation takes into account that not only the phases but also the amplitudes of the wave Fourier modes are random quantities and it is called the “Rand...
